Columbiad Fabrication and Aviation, LLC officials announced this week that the company will invest $4.8 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Henry County, creating 144 new jobs over the next five years.

“Columbiad’s expansion will provide new opportunities for Henry County residents to thrive and will have a lasting impact on Tennessee’s economy,” Governor Bill Lee said in a statement. “I congratulate their recent success and thank them for investing in Northwest Tennessee.”
Founded in Paris, Tennessee, Columbiad specializes in precision metal fabrication, according to a press release by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD). The company’s full-fabrication welding team can cut, form and weld parts to send its customers a completed assembly.
Columbiad will purchase a building in Henry County and relocate its existing operations from Paris to Puryear, according to TNECD. The new facility, which has housed Columbiad’s welding operations over the past year, will allow all the company’s operations to be located under one roof, improving production flow and providing additional space for expected growth.
“Tennessee’s geographic location, affordable cost of doing business and competitive wages make our state an ideal place for manufacturing companies to locate and grow,” TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe said in a statement. “We appreciate Columbiad for its $4.8 million investment in Henry County and for its continued partnership with our state.”
Hiring for Columbiad’s new Puryear operations will begin in the first quarter of 2022, TNECD notes.
“The State of Tennessee’s investment in Columbiad’s growth and future has afforded us a great opportunity to provide jobs and quality manufacturing to the area,” Johnathan Bailey, vice president of Columbiad Fabrication and Aviation, LLC, expressed in a statement. “We thank them for their forward vision and commitment in our endeavors.”
